Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson has had a scan on a potential groin injury.
The Reds head to Southampton on Sunday as they wrap up a disappointing Premier League campaign. And speaking in his pre-match press conference this morning, Klopp gave an update on a couple of members of the Liverpool squad.
It looks like potentially bad news for Robertson and Ibrahima Konate, but better for Darwin Nunez.

“Darwin trained yesterday, fully. Ibou [Konate] was ill yesterday,” said the manager.
“Robbo felt something in his groin yesterday. we had a scan that was fine but anyway we have to see how we deal with that. Long-term are still out, that’s clear. The rest should be alright.”
Robbo set to miss St. Mary’s dead rubber
This isn’t an admission that Robertson is out of the game on Sunday, and it’s good news that the scan was clear. But you’d suspect that with nothing on the line, the Scotland captain won’t feature at St. Mary’s.
Liverpool have a perfectly capable back-up in Kostas Tsimikas, and you’d now expect the Greek to come in.
It could be worse news for Scotland, who have a couple of Euro 2024 qualifiers to play against Norway and Georgia. They’ll hope their skipper is back for that.

If he isn’t though, Robertson can reflect on a season where he – like most of the Liverpool squad – wasn’t at his best.
Yesterday’s result for Manchester United means the 29-year-old will play Europa League football for the first time in his Reds career. Fiery personality that he is, Robertson will no doubt be desperate to put that right next season.
In the meantime, it’s time to rest up. With Liverpool’s final place in the Premier League table now confirmed, we’d be surprised to see Robbo in Sunday’s squad.
The same will surely go for Konate, while we’d love to see Darwin get the chance to end a difficult season on a high on the South Coast. On this news, expect a few changes to Sunday’s XI.
