Sporting Lisbon now reportedly believe that Manuel Ugarte will be sold next month amid strong links to the likes of Liverpool.
According to Record via Sport Witness, the Portuguese giants eager to offload as many unwanted players as possible before the start of pre-season, with Ugarte falling into that camp after growing reports that the Uruguay international wants to leave this summer.
As per the report, Liverpool are interested in the 22-year-old midfielder, who could leave Sporting if his €60m (£53m) release clause is met in the coming weeks. However, as reported by CM Jornal, PSG are now making big strides to sign Ugarte.

Although a deal is yet to be announced between the Ligue 1 giants and Ugarte, Liverpool could soon lose crucial ground in the race to sign the midfielder, and this latest update from Portugal could force Jurgen Klopp’s hand into making a move.
Indeed, Ugarte would add a lot of quality depth to Liverpool’s midfield, and with Sporting now stating that they want the youngster sold as soon as possible, the Anfield side could have to step up their pursuit a gear or two if they’re to beat the likes of PSG to Ugarte.
Liverpool have to match Ugarte’s release clause sooner rather than later

The race to sign Ugarte is heating up with the transfer window close to finally opening, and for Liverpool, they have to make a push to sign the midfielder with interest building and rival clubs now looking to make their opening moves for the 22-year-old.
Few players in Europe offer what Ugarte has in his locker, and if Liverpool want to make a real statement this summer, winning the race for the Sporting star will do just that, especially with big clubs with deep pockets like PSG in the mix for the South American bruiser.
