Benfica are reportedly worried about signing Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu due to Liverpool’s interest in the 22-year-old talent.
According to Record via Sport Witness, the Portuguese giants are keen to bring the title-winning youngster to Lisbon this summer, however, Liverpool’s interest in Kokcu is one of the many roadblocks standing in Benfica’s way, as well as Feyenoord’s €40m (£34m) asking price.
The Turkish international has been one of the best players in the Eredivisie this season as Kokcu essentially captained the Rotterdam-based club to the Dutch title in stunning fashion, with the midfielder scoring an incredible 12 goals in all competitions.

Lauded as ‘perfect’ by former Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko, interest is growing in Kokcu after his historic year with Feyenoord, and Liverpool could now be in with a chance of signing the 22-year-old, with Benfica now worried about the Reds.
Indeed, Jurgen Klopp’s summer plan is to sign at least three central midfielders, and with Kokcu having a year as good as he has and valued at a reasonable price, there could be some truth in the claim that Benfica are worried about Liverpool beating them to the Turkish star.
Kokcu could be an outstanding addition for Liverpool this summer

Feyenoord’s story has been one of the best in Europe this season, and with Liverpool now seemingly increasing their interest in signing one of their star players in Kokcu, the midfield sensation could be an incredible addition for Klopp’s squad.
A pleasing player on the eye with a direct style of play, Kokcu has all the elements needed to succeed at Anfield, and and £34m, Liverpool can’t go wrong for a midfielder who has taken his club to an incredible new height this season in fantastic fashion.
