Mohammed Kudus’ agent has confirmed that the Ajax talent will leave the club this summer, with Liverpool scouting the 22-year-old Ghana international this season.
Speaking to De Telegraaf, Jennifer Mendelewitsch confirmed that the versatile attacker will depart Amsterdam after an incredible season for club and country, with Kudus scoring 18 goals and bagging two assists for Ajax whilst also hitting two at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Mendelewitsch said: “He has rejected a proposal to extend his contract with Ajax until the summer of 2026. I think it is best for both Ajax and Mohammed that he makes a transfer this summer, it is the right time. All I can say now is that after the World Cup and this season, there’s a lot of interest in Kudus.”
Valued at £40m according to the Athletic, Kudus is on course to become Ajax’s next big sale in the window, and according to Sports World Ghana, Liverpool have scouted the youngster regularly this season, with the attacker even scoring against the Reds in the UEFA Champions League.
With Kudus now set to leave Ajax, Liverpool could enter the frame to sign the African sensation given his incredible versatility. And with the youngster starting off as a midfielder, Jurgen Klopp could work his magic on the 22-year-old to produce something quite incredible.
