Liverpool reportedly had scouts out in Germany this weekend to watch RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo, who could be on the move this summer.
According to 90min, the Anfield side had a representative in Bavaria to watch the Spanish international against Bayern Munich, with Liverpool keeping tabs on Olmo as the 25-year-old looks primed to depart Leipzig at the end of this season.
The former Dinamo Zagreb star’s contract is due to expire in 2024, and Leipzig could be tempted to cash in on Olmo amid growing interest in the playmaker, with Liverpool one of the sides interested in signing the Bundesliga superstar.
With a reported asking price of £33m, Olmo could represent fantastic value in the transfer market, especially with Liverpool eager to make as many as three midfield signings this summer, with the Spaniard a different option to those who have been linked already.
Lauded by Pep Guardiola as a ‘fantastic, fantastic player’, Olmo could be an interesting signing for Liverpool this summer. And with Anfield officials watching the versatile midfielder so soon to the opening of the transfer window, a potential move could now be on the cards.
Olmo could be Liverpool’s Plan B to Mount
With Alexis Mac Allister all-but confirmed as a Liverpool player, the next move for the Reds will be to sign another midfielder, and should a deal to bring Mason Mount to Merseyside collapse, Olmo could be an exceptional Plan B for the England international.
Just one year older than Mount but arguably the better and more versatile player, Olmo has a lot of qualities that could make the Spaniard a hit at Anfield, and with a valuation of £33m, the former FC Barcelona academy star could be a cheap option this summer.
