Mohammed Kudus will reportedly leave Ajax this summer with Liverpool one of the many clubs interested in signing the Ghanaian international.

According to the Athletic, the 22-year-old attacker has made the Dutch giants aware that he wants to leave the club when the transfer window opens for business next month, with Liverpool, alongside Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United, linked with a move for Kudus.

The youngster was scouted by Liverpool at the 2022 FIFA World Cup as Kudus impressed for Ghana in the group stages, with the forward’s teammates labelling the youngster as a ‘special’ talent after his breakout year for club and country this season.

And with Kudus now stating his intention to leave Ajax this summer, the £40m-rated attacker could quickly become one of the most sought-after players in all of Europe, with Liverpool a side who could make a move for the Ghanaian superstar.

Indeed, Roberto Firmino’s departure could convince Jurgen Klopp to make a move for Kudus, and with the forward actually starting his career off as a midfielder, there could be room for the Ajax phenom to translate his abilities into a deeper position on the pitch for Liverpool.

Kudus is no doubt an incredible talent who could very well become one of the best forwards in world football if he continues to develop at his current pace, but for Liverpool, they might have to miss out on the Ajax star based on the needs Klopp’s side actually have in the market.

Three central midfielders are expected to join alongside a defender and even a potential backup goalkeeper, and whilst Kudus could be a great new shiny toy for Liverpool, the Reds’ attacking options make a move for the Ajax talent obsolete.
