According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Anfield side are confident that they can snipe the 24-year-old England international from their Premier League rivals due to stalling contract talks between Mount and Chelsea, though Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival could still play a factor.

Mount has endured two difficult years at Chelsea, and whilst the midfielder remains a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge, the west London side could soon find themselves in a position where they have to sell the 24-year-old, where Liverpool will be willing to make the catch.

Indeed, whilst a bargain fee for Mount could still amount to a figure north of £50m or even £60m, there’s no denying that the Chelsea man could be an incredible coup for Liverpool, and Klopp will be the ideal manager to get get the best out of the playmaker.
