Liverpool have reached an agreement with Brighton for the sale of Alexis Mac Allister this summer.
That’s according to Argentinian outlet TyC Sports this evening. They claim that the Reds have come to a ‘total agreement’ over the signing of the 24-year-old at the end of the season.
Liverpool reportedly ‘won the battle’ for Mac Allister, after Chelsea also showed an interest in him. As a result, the World Cup winner is also now said to have agreed a contract ‘over several years’ with the Reds. According to TyC, Liverpool will pay Brighton £70m for Mac Allister.
Mac Allister edges closer to Anfield move
Wow, Liverpool have certainly been busy bees this evening. Fresh from a pretty eventful 1-1 draw with Aston Villa and saying goodbye to a couple of legends at Anfield, they look to have wasted no time making moves in the transfer market.
As fans come to terms with the exit of Roberto Firmino in particular today, they’re also having to accept the reality that they’ll be playing Europa League football next season.
That isn’t yet confirmed, but it’s near enough a certainty. To avoid that scenario, Liverpool would now need both Newcastle and Manchester United to lose both of their final two games. It isn’t going to happen.

So, with that gloom now surrounding the club. they’ll need something to lift them. Thankfully, it looks as though TyC will provide that very lift this very evening.
Although they are at pains to point out that nothing is official just yet, it seems like this one’s merely an announcement away.
We’d temper too much excitement until that official statement does hopefully arrive. But nevertheless, this is excellent news on a day of decidedly mixed emotions for Liverpool fans.
£70m sounds like a lot for Mac Allister. But it will be a relief to get a signing through the door, whatever the price.
