Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp deserved a longer ban for his actions during the Reds recent win over Tottenham Hotspur.
According to The Athletic yesterday, Klopp has been handed a two-game touchline ban for what he said about referee Paul Tierney after the 4-3 victory. The Liverpool boss has also been fined £75,000.
The punishment is in-line with others dished out for similar incidents. However, TalkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor says that although the FA sanctions are fair, Klopp should also face the consequences for his over-the-top celebration on the day of the game.

“It’s enough for that incident,” admitted the pundit. “But I don’t understand why he doesn’t get another ban for running up to the fourth official and going in his face [after Diogo Jota scored in injury time].
“It doesn’t say anything there about him being banned for that, you can’t do that. The fourth official’s got no say in the game, he’s there, he doesn’t deserve that treatment from Jurgen Klopp. So I think he deserves a longer ban, a bigger fine.”
Agbonlahor continues Klopp feud
This is quite simple really. Klopp was punished on the day for his celebration towards fourth official John Brooks. Tierney and his gang of officials saw fit to give the German a yellow card, and that’s the end of the matter.
But of course it isn’t for Agbonlahor. The former England striker has had an axe to grind with Klopp ever since the manager called him out for some comments about Manchester United early in the season.
Since then, all we’ve heard from Agbonlahor is rather bad-faith bashing of Liverpool.

In fairness, the Reds have given him plenty to bash this season. As a result, perhaps the 36-year-old now feels some kind of strange vindication in his rants against the club, and Klopp in particular.
Not that Jurgen will mind especially. He has never returned fire to Agbonlahor since that first exchange, and is unlikely to again.
He did go over the top in his celebrations against Brooks. He knows that, has apologised for it and took the punishment given to him on the day. It’s a shame that he’ll be forced to sit out of the game tomorrow, but once again, he’ll do as he’s told.
Whatever Klopp does though, or however he’s punished, it’s unlikely to ever be enough for people like Agbonlahor.
