Liverpool have absolutely no plans to replace £180k-p/w departing player

Liverpool reportedly have no plans to sign a successor for Roberto Firmino this summer, with the Brazilian set to leave at the end of this season.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds are confident in their current attacking options to absorb the void left by Firmino, who is set to end his eight-year stay on Merseyside at the end of this month when the Premier League season comes to an end.

Firmino announced earlier in the year that he will be leaving Liverpool when his contract expires, and whilst there has been some debate amongst supporters on if the South American should be replaced, the Reds have seemingly made the decision to not take such action.

As per the report, Liverpool are stacked with attacking talent with Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah, and given how good the quintet are, replacing Firmino feels like a waste of funds for Jurgen Klopp and his team.

Indeed, the £180,000-a-week attacker’s unique role for Liverpool will also be a hard trait to find, with few players in world football able to do what Firmino has done for the Anfield side over the years, with Klopp seemingly ready to evolve his attack.

Liverpool are making a good decision in not signing a Firmino replacement

Losing a figure as beloved and as important as Firmino for Liverpool has already hit supporters hard, yet with the club already establishing that they won’t sign a replacement, the Reds are making a good decision in their plans for the summer.

As mentioned, Liverpool’s attacking options are incredible, with Klopp having more than enough quality to replace the traits Firmino will leave behind with his absence, and not signing a forward will allow the Reds to go strong in the market to find players the squad really need, namely midfielders.
