Liverpool are reportedly still interested in Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, with the Serbian international one of five players being watched by the Reds.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, the £65m-rated superstar is an option for Liverpool this summer as Milinkovic-Savic looks to finally leave Lazio after years of being linked with a move away from the Roman club, with Merseyside a potential destination.

As per the report, Milinkovic-Savic is one of five midfielders Liverpool are considering, with the list including the likes of Moises Caicedo and Mason Mount, though Declan Rice and Alexis Mac Allister remain Jurgen Klopp’s main targets for the summer.

Lauded by Ciro Immobile as a midfielder who could be on the same level or greater than Kevin De Bruyne, Milinkovic-Savic is often regarded as one of the most complete players in all of Europe, and Liverpool’s interest could be appealing to the Serbian.

Indeed, the 28-year-old is at the peak of his powers after another impressive season with Lazio, and although Liverpool might not be in the UEFA Champions League next season, Milinkovic-Savic could be tempted by a move to Anfield given the sheer stature of the Reds and the prospect of playing in England.

Liverpool’s need for world-class midfielders is evident for all to see, and Milinkovic-Savic could be viewed as arguably the perfect signing for the Merseyside giants this summer, with the Lazio man simply too good an option to pass up on.

The Serbian international can do everything Klopp wants from a midfielder at a world-class level, and with Lazio ready to sell Milinkovic-Savic, Liverpool have to ensure they’re at the front of the queue to sign the 28-year-old this summer.
