Fabrizio Romano has teased that Manuel Ugarte could move to the Premier League this summer amid recent links to Liverpool.

Taking to Twitter, the Italian transfer guru revealed that three English sides are interested in signing the Sporting Lisbon superstar, with Liverpool heavily reported with a move for Ugarte as the £52m-rated midfielder inches closer to leaving Portugal.

Ugarte has enjoyed a breakout season with Sporting having enjoyed an impressive 2022 FIFA World Cup with Uruguay as well, and the Premier League could be the next destination for the 22-year-old midfielder, with Liverpool in the race for the youngster.

Jurgen Klopp is keen to overhaul his midfield options this summer, and Ugarte’s profile makes the South American the ideal long-term replacement for Fabinho, who at 29-years-old could do with having a successor in place for when the Brazilian’s time at Anfield is up.

Indeed, Ugarte ticks a lot of boxes for what any top club in Europe wants in a defensive midfielder, and with the player’s agent now in talks over a Premier League move, Liverpool could soon find themselves in the driving seat to sign he 22-year-old this summer.
