Reported Liverpool target Moises Caicedo has been slammed for his tackle on Gabriel Martinelli that resulted in the Arsenal winger coming off injured against Brighton & Hove Albion.
As per the Evening Standard, Arsenal doctor Gary O’Driscoll criticised Caicedo’s late challenge on the Brazilian international, another player Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of, as Martinelli was forced to come off early in the Gunners’ 3-0 loss to Brighton.
The Telegraph recently reported that Liverpool are in the race to sign Caicedo, who is expected to leave Brighton this summer after handing in a transfer request in January to force a move, yet his tackle on Martinelli has drummed up criticism from Arsenal.

O’Driscoll said when asked about Martinelli’s condition after Caicedo’s first-half tackle: “Sore. It’s a terrible foul, disgraceful. He’s a bit sore but he should be okay.”
Indeed, Caicedo was apologetic with Martinelli after the winger was brought off, and whilst the tackle was a nasty one, the Brighton midfielder knows that the moment will be an important lesson in his career, with the Seagulls star still very much at the start of his time at the top.
Caicedo will take lessons from Martinelli tackle amid Liverpool interest

The £70m-rated midfielder knows he made a mistake in north London, yet with Liverpool now keeping an eye on Caicedo, the youngster is aware that every game and every error is a chance for him to grow as a player, which is what we will likely see in the coming weeks.
As we know, Caicedo has the potential to become one of the best midfielders in football, and although his tackle was rash, the Ecuador star knows that he has the mentality to right his wrong and to learn from the incident, with Liverpool likely to keep tabs on his process between now and the summer.
