Danny Murphy has lauded Moises Caicedo’s performance against Arsenal this weekend, with Liverpool recently linked with a move for the Brighton & Hove Albion star.

Speaking on Match of the Day, the pundit was amazed by what he saw from the Ecuador international in north London, with Caicedo one of the starring players at the Emirates in a clinical 3-0 win for Brighton, boasting their hopes of a European finish.

As reported by the Telegraph, the £80m-rated midfielder is wanted by Liverpool as the Reds look to step up their efforts to sign midfielders this summer, and Caicedo could become an option that is too good to turn down based on his performances this season.

And Murphy was certainly impressed with what he saw on Sunday, with the former Liverpool man saying: “He’s a super talent. He played right-back today. Arsenal have courted him obviously, we know that, and maybe he had a thing where he thought I’m going to show you what you are missing. He was terrific.

“He has the midfield mentality to go in and get the ball but he started on the right and he dealt with Martinelli and Trossard. He has great feet, good awareness of what’s around him and what I was really impressed with playing in this right-back area is his attention to detail when defending. I think he’s going to have a big, big future this lad.”

Liverpool are fully aware that Caicedo could be a great signing for them this summer, and with the 21-year-old impressing against one of the best clubs in Europe this season in Arsenal, the Reds simply have to consider a move for the midfielder.

The tools are all there for Caicedo to become one of the best midfielders in Europe, and under Jurgen Klopp, the Ecuadorian could take his game to a whole new level if given the right coaching and the time to develop at Liverpool.
