Manchester City are reportedly formulating a plan to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, with Liverpool also interested in the teenager.
According to TalkSport, Pep Guardiola is willing to bring back the Belgian youngster to the Etihad Stadium just one year after City sold Lavia to Southampton, with the 19-year-old establishing himself as one of the best young prospects in the Premier League.
As a result, many of the division’s top clubs are interested in signing Lavia, with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal recently being linked with the Saints wonderkid, as well as Liverpool as reported by journalist Jacque Talbot, with central midfield a key position for the Reds this summer.

Whilst Liverpool are seemingly making moves to sign Alexis Mac Allister and Manuel Ugarte if reports are to be believed, Lavia could be arguably an even more exciting transfer given his incredible potential and impressive performances for a relegation-bound Southampton.
Indeed, at 19, Lavia could have been a brilliant signing for Liverpool, but with City now back in the race for the £50m-rated midfielder, there’s a good chance that the Merseyside club will cut their losses and focus on targets they know they can sign.
Liverpool could regret missing out on Lavia this summer

Lavia has all the qualities to become a world-class midfielder in the future, and although Liverpool have their reasons for not pursuing the Southampton wonderkid, the Reds could soon regret not pushing as hard as they could have for the teenager.
With City already scrambling to bring Lavia back to Manchester, it speaks volume over how talented the Belgian youngster is that Guardiola wants the midfielder in his plans for the future, and Liverpool could soon regret not going in for the 19-year-old.
