Liverpool are reportedly ready to make a transfer offer for Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella, with the Italian international believed to be worth €80m (£69m).
According to FC Inter Live, the Reds, alongside Chelsea and Newcastle United, are set to make an opening bid to sign the Inter midfielder, who last night starred in the UEFA Champions League semi-final as the Nerazzurri secured a 2-0 win against AC Milan.
Lauded by Steven Gerrard and Peter Crouch for his performances, Barella has been one of the best midfielders in Europe for quite some time, and rumours are snowballing fast that the 26-year-old will leave the San Siro this summer after years of speculation.

And now, Liverpool could be the side that ultimately wins the battle to sign Barella, with Jurgen Klopp eager to spend big on multiple midfielders this summer to throw the Anfield side back into the Premier League title race for next season.
Indeed, although interest from Chelsea and Newcastle could cause some issues, Liverpool have the stature and the project to convince Barella to make the move to Merseyside, especially if the Reds can pull off the impossible and qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Liverpool will need all the luck they can get to sign Barella

Barella is amongst the world’s elite when it comes to central midfielders, and for Liverpool, they will need as much luck as possible if they’re to sign the Inter star, especially if the Milan-based giants can go all the way to the Champions League final.
Whilst finances might not be an issue for Liverpool, Inter winning Europe’s biggest prize could be enough to convince Barella to stay in Italy for the next few years, and the Reds could struggle to convince the midfielder to swap Lombardy for Merseyside if such an outcome comes to fruition.
