Michail Antonio has lauded how James Milner has kept himself fit and healthy at the age of 37, with the West Ham striker comparing the Liverpool man to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, the Jamaica international praised the former England international for his ability to maintain his fitness to keep performing at a Premier League level, with Milner often regarded as one of the fittest players in the division.
Tales of Milner regularly coming out on top in fitness tests at Liverpool are well-publicised, with Antonio praising Brighton & Hove Albion for reportedly winning the race to sign the £120,000-a-week Liverpool midfielder, who the West Ham attacker compared to Ronaldo, of all players.

Antonio said: “Players are looking after their bodies. Players can play a lot longer. Look at James Milner. He’s leaving Liverpool and he’s going to Brighton. They are another quality team in the Premier League. And he is 37. It’s not just Ronaldo who is doing it.”
The West Ham forward added: “James Milner, Adam Lallana. All these players still have quality. They are still doing it, even at their older ages. It’s not about age anymore, it’s about if you are doing it out on the pitch and that’s what I think people should be looking at.”
Milner has taken all the right lessons from Ronaldo on fitness

Ronaldo might not be the most well-liked figure at Anfield, but there’s no denying that the former Manchester United striker knows a thing or two about being healthy, and Milner seems to have taken these lessons into his day-to-day life.
At 37, the Liverpool midfielder remains as fit as he ever has, a factor that has allowed the veteran to play at the top level for as long as he has, and for Brighton, Milner could find himself as a role model for one of the youngest teams in the division based on his fitness regime.
