Jurgen Klopp has said that the team spirit in training has lifted greatly in recent weeks, with Liverpool’s senior team eager to work hard to push for a top-four spot.

Speaking to LFC TV, the German manager revealed that training and coaching methods have changed at Kirkby in recent weeks with results seemingly providing wonders on the pitch, with Liverpool winning their last six Premier League matches.

A push for an unlikely UEFA Champions League spot is now firmly on as Manchester United continue to drop points having lost their last two Premier League games, and a change in tactics to training has seemingly been the catalyst behind Klopp getting a second wind out of his Liverpool side.

The Anfield boss said: “The boys have bought completely into it. Everybody has wanted a solution for the situation we are in and even if it was a bit late [in this season] we could deliver that. Together with the boys we have started something new, and I’m really happy about that. It’s pretty special.

“For most parts of the season, it hasn’t been really easy to enjoy. At the moment we have made it a bit more easy to be with us again and I’m really happy about that. For too long we were not ourselves. But we know in our best spells we had super difficult games which we brought somehow over the line, so we should not forget that.”

Sometimes all it takes for a club to rediscover their form is a change in their regular training schedule, and for Liverpool, this seems to have been the case in recent weeks with what Klopp and his coaches have done behind the scenes.

Six wins on the trot have seen Liverpool revive their UEFA Champions League hopes when they previously looked all-but over, and if the Reds can maintain this form, there’s a good chance that the new training programme will become more permanent for next season.
