What Jurgen Klopp actually did at full-time after Liverpool beat Fulham on Wednesday

Jurgen Klopp cut a much calmer figure than recent games after Liverpool’s win over Fulham on Wednesday.

The Reds boss had been in the news last weekend after his emotional outburst following Liverpool’s late win over Tottenham Hotspur. But according to The Athletic, he was on his ‘best behaviour’ in midweek.

Rather than race to the Kop, fists pumping and teeth barred, Klopp is instead said to have turned to the crowd to sign autographs at full-time. Having satisfied the waiting fans, the German then headed ‘calmly’ straight down the tunnel.

Klopp keeps calm and carries on

After the fireworks of Sunday against Spurs, Wednesday was always going to find a more subdued Jurgen. Although he doesn’t often get credit for it, the 55-year-old is usually full of regret after an incident like the one last weekend.

You’ll regularly see him make a conscious effort to reign his emotions in over the games that follow.

But, to be fair, it was just that kind of a game on Wednesday. Had things been more explosive on the pitch, perhaps Klopp wouldn’t have been quite so serene.

Aside from a dubious penalty that went in Liverpool’s favour though, there really wasn’t much to get wound up about. If the Spurs game was one for the ages, then this was one to instantly forget.

Of course, Jurgen won’t mind that at this stage of the season. As long as Liverpool collect their points he’ll generally be happy.

Besides, there’s already another game to prepare for. Tomorrow sees the Reds hat-trick of home games come to an end, with Brentford coming to town. With Manchester United dropping points yesterday, it’s a big chance for Liverpool to put pressure on the top four. Now that the stakes are slightly raised, let’s see if Klopp can remain calm this weekend!
