Jurgen Klopp was stunned pre-match against Fulham after being asked by a Sky Sports News journalist if Liverpool could still finish in the Premier League top-four.

As per Sky Sports’s official website, the German manager was surprised when asked on if the Reds can make an unlikely push for top-four, with Klopp saying: “I cannot believe these questions, I’m embarrassed to answer them all of the time.

“I have no clue, you have to ask Manchester United and Newcastle what they think about it. The only chance we have is to win football matches, then we will see. My concern is that we play the best possible football, keep the good stuff going.”

A win tonight against Fulham will send Liverpool four points behind Manchester United in fourth, with the Red Devils to play Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday night in what is being billed as one of the most exciting games of this Premier League week.

Indeed, whilst it is entirely possible that Liverpool can finish in the top-four, the odds are still slim, and there’s every chance that the Reds themselves will throw away their chance to qualify for the Champions League with another shock defeat or draw in the upcoming fixtures.

Liverpool have every chance to finish in the top-four this season if they find themselves a bit of luck courtesy of United and Newcastle, yet as the Liverpool manager said himself, his personal opinion on if his team can do it is already growing tiresome.

With four games left to go after tonight, Liverpool still don’t control their own destiny, and whilst form has been great in recent weeks, the Reds have shown this season that they are vulnerable to occasional slip up at the most likely of occasions.
