Real Madrid are reportedly close to agreeing on a deal to sign Jude Bellingham, with Liverpool pulling out of the race in part to Los Blancos’ interest.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the reigning UEFA Champions League holders are in the final stages of securing the England international’s signature, with Marca further reporting that Liverpool pulled out of the race because of Madrid’s eagerness to sign Bellingham.
As per Marca, Bellingham will sign a contract with Madrid until 2029, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side also expected to pay between €100m (£88m) and €120m (£106m) for the Borussia Dortmund superstar, making the former Liverpool target the most expensive English player of all time.
The news will come as a blow for Liverpool, who even after pulling out of the race for Bellingham seemingly held hope that a deal could be done in 2024 should the midfielder remain in Germany. However, it now looks certain that the teenager will take his talents to Madrid this summer.
Real Madrid have won the lottery in winning Bellingham race

Bellingham for the good part of 12 months looked set for Liverpool, with the Reds the ideal club for the England international on almost every single level. However, the Reds’ overall form and potential lack of UEFA Champions League football have made it so the Dortmund star became unobtainable, and Madrid have hit the jackpot.
The England international is easily one of the best players in world football and a player who is still very much at the start of his career. And with Madrid, there’s no telling how far Bellingham can go at the biggest club in world football, much to Liverpool’s horror and dismay.
