Liverpool are reportedly in talks to sign Gabri Veiga, with the Celta Viga midfielder one of Europe’s most sought-after players after a breakout season.
According to AS, the 20-year-old Spanish youth international has held discussions with the Reds over a potential transfer, though Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Manchester United have also held similar talks with Veiga.
The versatile midfielder has been one of the standout players in Spain this campaign, with Veiga bagging nine goals and four assists for Celta, and interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs is now starting to bubble, with Liverpool firmly in the race.
With a release clause of €40m (£35m), the Merseyside giants signing Veiga could be one of the most straightforward deals Jurgen Klopp and his team undertake all summer, with midfield the most important position for the Reds this campaign.
Lauded as ‘spectacular’ by Spain’s U-21 coach Santi Denia, Liverpool could land quite the coup with Veiga if they’re willing to push the boat out in the earliest stages of the transfer window, and this update is encouraging news for the Anfield side.

Nine goals from central midfield is quite the achievement from any player, especially from one as young as Veiga, and the 20-year-old’s skillet could be ideal for Liverpool this summer, especially given who the Reds already have in the position in Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones.
