Giorgio Scalvini has hinted that he could be open on a move to the Premier League this summer amid recent reported interest from Liverpool.
Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Italian wonderkid revealed that links to the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and more recently Bayern Munich have been flattering, with Scalvini expected to make the move from Atalanta amid growing transfer interest.
The teenage centre-back said: “It may be nice [to move to the Premier League], but I read in passing and that’s it. I’m concentrated here at Atalanta. None of us can know what the future holds for me, I just have to think about doing well at Atalanta.”
With a reported asking price of £35m, Scalvini could be one of the potential bargains of the transfer market given his age and obvious quality, with the 19-year-old a regular for Atalanta this season and on course to become the next great Italian defender.
And for Liverpool, these latest comments could be music to Jurgen Klopp’s ears, with a young centre-back to partner Ibrahima Konate on the Reds’ transfer shopping list for the summer, with Scalvini a perfect signing for the Anfield giants.
Liverpool have to move for Scalvini after recent comments
Centre-back could unravel itself as a more important area for Liverpool to invest in this summer than central midfield, and when it comes to defensive targets, few are as enticing and promising as Scalvini, who is seemingly keen on a move.
The teenager has been fantastic for Atalanta this season and has shown that he is ready for a move to one of Europe’s elite, and for Liverpool, Scalvini could be the perfect summer signing to bolster Klopp’s defensive ranks, with the youngster an ideal partner for Konate for many years to come.
