Liverpool have identified two midfield alternatives to Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.
Speaking in an interview with GiveMeSport, the reporter claimed the Reds are interested in Fulham’s João Palhinha and Wolves’ Matheus Nunes, after pulling out of the race for the 19-year-old international.

When asked which players are considered Jurgen Klopp’s top alternatives, Crook replied: “Two Portuguese players, João Palhinha at Fulham and Matheus Nunes, who they nearly signed before he went to Wolves.
“I think they’re keen on him as well, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they were to make a bid in the summer, but I think they’re building up quite an extensive list of midfield targets because they need more than one. So, I think they’ll sign at least two midfielders, if not three.”
Palhinha and Nunes at Liverpool?
With the level of talent Liverpool have been linked with in recent months, signing Palhinha and Nunes would be slightly underwhelming.
Although they are both very good players, especially the Fulham star, there has to be better options out there for the same money.
According to The Daily Mail, the West London club value the 27-year-old at around £60m.

Wolves, on the other hand, value Nunes at £50m (as per The Telegraph).
For that sort of price, excellent midfielders can be found abroad. For example, Bayern Munich ace Ryan Gravenberch has been touted with a £25m move to Anfield.
