Former Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp has shared which club he’s been told Jude Bellingham wants to join, after Liverpool pulled out of the race to sign him.
Speaking on the Beyond The Pitch Podcast, the 76-year-old claimed the former Blues youngster – whom he gave his senior debut to – wants to join Real Madrid this summer, with the Reds having dropped their interest.
“He’s amazing you know, and I heard that he wants to go to Real Madrid, that’s what I’ve heard from a very very good source close to him,” said Redknapp.
“I’ve heard he wants to go to Real Madrid, Liverpool seem to have dropped out of the race, so that leaves Man City or Chelsea, but the rumour is he wants to go to Real Madrid.”
Just two weeks ago, The Times revealed that the Merseyside outfit had ended their pursuit of the 19-year-old, as they couldn’t justify spending in excess of £100m on one player.
Redknapp thinks Bellingham will join Madrid
Redknapp seems pretty certain Bellingham will make the move to the Bernabeu this summer.
For the past few months, however, we were becoming more confident that the Bundesliga star would opt for Anfield.
This may have been the case, as Liverpool were the ones to pull out before a choice was made.
If he decides to sign an extension with Dortmund and stay another year, we still think the Reds could be in the running.
Madrid would be an incredible club for Bellingham, so if he doesn’t sign for them this summer, what’s there to suggest he will next year?
With that, we rest our hopes on an extension with the German giants.
