Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic has now shared his thoughts on playing against former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres.
Speaking on the FIVE YouTube channel with Rio Ferdinand, the Serbian was asked about the toughest players he’s ever faced, identifying the likes of Didier Drogba and Sergio Aguero.
He also mentioned El Niño, who he notoriously struggled to defend against when lining up versus the Reds.
“Torres is mentioned always,” said Vidic.
“Torres, I think he had one or two great years at Liverpool.

“There was the year they challenged us for the trophy, they were really close.
“I think that was the game at Old Trafford when I made a mistake; the one which I misjudged the ball. I wanted to head the ball and then I wanted to let the ball past me and then head it to Edwin [van der Sar].
“I misjudged, Torres took that ball from me and scored the goal.
“I think we lost that game 2-1 or 1-0, something like that.
“Yeah, he was a good player. But listen, if I talk now about certain players which I did well against, it’s not for me to talk about.”
Vidic shares his thoughts on Torres
In a Liverpool shirt, Torres was absolutely exceptional.
Amassing 142 appearances for the Reds, the Spaniard incredibly bagged 81 goals and 20 assists.
Furthermore, in six derby matches against United, El Niño scored three times for Liverpool, also adding another assist.

Out of all the strikers in world football, Torres is certainly known for causing Vidic serious issues.
We really miss seeing him line out at Anfield – a real Liverpool legend.
