FSG president Mike Gordon is reportedly hands-on with Liverpool’s transfer plans for the summer window, with the Reds expected to be busy in the market.
According to the Times, Gordon will once again take on a key role in Liverpool’s recruitment strategy having taken a step back from his previous position at Anfield, with the FSG figurehead now set to work alongside Jurgen Klopp in the transfer window.
The Liverpool manager is set to oversee the biggest squad overhaul of his tenure at the club, with central midfield and defence expected to see massive changes with the likes of James Milner, Naby Keita and Joe Gomez all due to leave in the summer.
With no sporting director yet to be appointed to succeed Julian Ward, Klopp will now seemingly work alongside Gordon, a figure that has been credited by the Guardian as one of the most important visionaries at the club in the past few years.
Indeed, whilst Liverpool supporters would prefer to have a new sporting director in place to lead the summer rebuild, the Reds and FSG are seemingly going about it in another direction, yet it could be one that brings success to Klopp’s side for next season.

The importance of Liverpool’s rebuild cannot be understated, and with key areas needing huge levels of investment and change, Gordon and Klopp will have to work at the peak of their powers to sign the right players for the Reds.
