Pundit Paul Merson has shared his prediction for who will win in the Premier League clash at the London Stadium tomorrow – West Ham United or Liverpool.

Writing in his predictions column for Sportskeeda, the former Arsenal man claimed the Reds will have a tough battle on their hands as they travel to East London to face the Hammers.

David Moyes’s side will be on a high after beating Bournemouth 4-0 on Sunday, so their attack will look to threaten Jurgen Klopp’s leaky defence.

“Liverpool are in a position where they may as well try and win every match – a draw is no good,” said Merson.

“They do not want to be in the Conference League and will want to finish in fifth place.

“The shackles are off for Liverpool at the moment and they’re looking good. If you’re a professional footballer, the one thing you can bottle up is confidence. They’ve got that back now, and they’re looking dangerous.

“I think West Ham’s result yesterday will give them enough confidence to go on and win the Conference League. If you’re Liverpool, you do not want to be playing against West Ham now.

“Newcastle’s victory yesterday was the nail in the coffin for Liverpool’s Champions League hopes. They would’ve hoped for a draw in that match. This is going to be a great match, and I’m going to go with a Liverpool draw this week. Prediction: West Ham United 2-2 Liverpool.”

Although the Reds came away with three points against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, they hardly looked convincing at the back.

The Tricky Trees are currently 19th in the Premier League table, and they caused Liverpool numerous issues in front of goal.

Having put four past Bournemouth, West Ham will be full of confidence as they welcome Klopp’s side to the London Stadium.

Especially with the Conference League still up for grabs, the Hammers squad will be fully focused at the moment.

Liverpool, on the other hand, are ready for next season – with the current campaign somewhat of a write-off.

Therefore, this result really could go either way tomorrow night.
