Liverpool reportedly have plans to promote Conor Bradley to the first-team this summer, with the teenager thriving out on loan this season with Bolton Wanderers.
According to the Athletic, the Reds plan to integrate the 19-year-old into Jurgen Klopp’s squad in pre-season this summer, with Bradley already being viewed as a potential backup for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The 24-year-old England international has been largely untested for the right-back position since breaking into the Liverpool first-team, yet Bradley joining the fold this summer could offer some much-needed competition for Alexander-Arnold.
Labelled as ‘superb’ by Leicester City defender Jonny Evans, Bradley has been one of Liverpool’s best youngsters out on loan this season, with the Northern Ireland international playing a key role for Bolton in their push for a League One play-off spot.
Having already win the EFL Trophy, Bradley will be looking to end the season with a flourish with the League One side, and a late surge for promotion could do the defender a world of good in securing a first-team spot with Liverpool next season.
Indeed, the Reds are fully aware that they need a quality backup for Alexander-Arnold this summer, and Bradley could prove to be that option if the teenager impress Klopp this summer upon his return from Bolton.
Bradley has all the qualities to become a member of Liverpool’s first-team
Bradley has been nothing short of excellent for Bolton this season, with the defender pushing the former Premier League side to Championship promotion and cementing himself as a regular in the Northern Ireland national team, and taking the next step with Liverpool feels like a possibility.
The Reds are desperate for a right-back to compete with Alexander-Arnold, and the teenager has all the tools needed to just that for Liverpool in pre-season, where he will be hopeful of impressing Klopp over the summer.
