Stefan Bajcetic is reportedly set to have an improved role in the Liverpool first-team next season after a breakout year out of the academy.

According to Goal, the Spanish youth international will have a ‘significant’ part to play in the new campaign having emerged this year under Jurgen Klopp as one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League.

As per the report, the ‘special’ academy graduate is expected to be more involved with the senior team next season despite Liverpool’s transfer plans this summer focussing on overhauling the midfield, with the Reds keen to bring in multiple fresh faces.

With James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita all expected to leave, promoting Bajcetic fully into the senior team makes a lot of sense for Liverpool, with the Spanish youth international’s rise one of the few bright sparks for the Anfield side this season.

Indeed, 19 appearances is all Bajcetic has managed in his entire senior career at Liverpool, yet the 18-year-old has shown plenty of promise in his short time in Klopp’s first-team, with the midfielder now expected to take on a bigger role for the new season.

Bajcetic has been a ray of light in what has been easily Klopp’s worst year yet as manager of Liverpool, and promoting the Spanish teenager fully into the first-team feels like as close to a no-brainer decision the Reds will make this summer.

The midfielder has shown incredible moments of quality at such a tender age this season, and with Bajcetic already signing a long-term contract, the 18-year-old could play a major role for Liverpool next campaign, even with a slate of new players to compete with.
