Barcelona are looking to sign a new striker in the summer, and they have included Liverpool star Roberto Firmino on their transfer wishlist.

That’s according to Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas, who has revealed on Twitter the various options being considered by the Catalan giants.

“Exclusive: #Barcelona have made #Chelsea’s Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang their top No.9 target this summer on a striker list that also includes #Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino, Marcus Thuram and Athletico Paranaense’s 18yo striker Vitor Roque,” he wrote.

The Brazilian is set to leave Anfield at the end of the season upon the expiry of his contract.

According to a report from the Daily Mail last week, the 31-year-old has already agreed to a deal to join Xavi’s side.

Barcelona eyeing move for Firmino

Having arrived at Anfield in 2015 in a deal worth £29m, Firmino has gone on to become a legend for the Reds.

During his eight years on Merseyside, he has incredibly amassed 360 appearances for the club – during which he has bagged 109 goals and 79 assists.

He has played a huge part in Klopp’s success, and he will go down as a key component of one of the best front-lines to ever grace the Premier League.

At 31 years old, Firmino knows it’s the right time to end his chapter at Liverpool.

The Reds now have the likes of Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz at their disposal, so the Brazilian has wisely opted to leave at the end of the season.

Not that he couldn’t compete for his spot any longer; he’s still a ‘world-class’ player.
