Roberto Firmino has agreed a deal in principle to sign for Galatasaray upon his exit from Liverpool this summer.

That’s according to Turkish outlet Sportcell. Posting on Twitter yesterday, they claim that Gala have made ‘great progress’ in their bid to bring Firmino to Istanbul.

It’s claimed that the Liverpool forward has already agreed to the move, with the exact terms of his contract now set to be discussed.

Clocks ticks down on Firmino at Liverpool

We’ve already seen Firmino linked to a whole host of European clubs ahead of his Liverpool departure. So we’d probably take this with a grain of salt.

But truthfully, it would be a bit of a shame to see the Brazilian end up away from one of Europe’s top five league.

Even six months away from his 32nd birthday, Bobby still has the ability to play for a big side. He’s recently been told that he’s good enough to sign for the likes of Bayern Munich, and we’d have to agree.

Going off his form this season, he could be the No.9 that the German giants have been crying out for this season. As Cody Gakpo said recently, Firmino is an ‘amazing’ player.

He’s never been the most prolific, but the Brazil international certainly knows where the goal is. In the right set-up, he’s going to be a heck of a free signing for somebody.

Until then, we’ll enjoy him at Liverpool while we still can. It’s crazy to think that at the very most we’ll only see Bobby turn out eight more times for the Reds. Having made 360 appearances across eight years, that feels odd. It’s going to be emotional. Wherever Bobby does turn up next, if it’s Turkey or elsewhere, he’ll never be loved like he is at Anfield.
