Liverpool are reportedly interested in Aston Villa talent Jacob Ramsey as the Reds continue their search for midfield targets for the summer transfer window.
According to Goal, the 21-year-old England youth international is the latest name to be added to Jurgen Klopp’s growing list of names, with the likes of Alexis Mac Allister, Mason Mount and Nicolo Barella all reported targets for the Merseyside.
Lauded as a midfielder who could become ‘top class’ by Jamie Carragher, Ramsey has been a key player for Villa over the last two seasons, with Steven Gerrard the one who gave the youngster the opportunity to impress in the Premier League, with Unai Emery since taking on the torch.
With four goals and six assists in all competitions, the Birmingham-born talent has put up some impressive numbers for Villa this season, and for Liverpool, it’s no real surprise why the Reds are now targeting Ramsey, who has all the makings of becoming an incredible player.
Indeed, whilst Villa could demand a lofty sum for Ramsey, Liverpool could still be interested in making a move for the 21-year-old midfielder, who could flourish in Klopp’s system as well as alongside some top players like Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho.
Liverpool signing Jacob Ramsey could be a masterstroke this summer
Ramsey has already established himself as a Premier League quality midfielder at the age of just 21, and for Liverpool, the Villa academy graduate could be quite the signing if the Reds are able to negotiate a good deal for the England youth international.
Able to play numerous roles and a prolific goal contributor, Ramsey ticks a lot of boxes for what Liverpool want in a midfielder this summer, and at such a young age, the prospect has even more room to grow should a move to Anfield occur in the coming weeks.
