Stan Collymore has predicted Liverpool to claim all three points against Leeds United on Monday night, with the former Red tipping Jurgen Klopp’s side to also be involved in the fight for European football.

Writing in his column for the Sunday People (pg 54, 16/04), the pundit has pencilled in a 3-1 win for Liverpool at Elland Road ahead of what will be a massive Premier League clash for both clubs, with Leeds in need of points to get away from the relegation zone.

With Liverpool five points off seventh place, the Reds will have to start getting in some wins if they’re to qualify for any sort of European football this season, and Collymore is well aware of this, with the 52-year-old writing: “Liverpool will know they are in a real good scrap for Europe and that they have to keep winning games.”

Leeds have already got the better of Liverpool once this season having won at Anfield in dramatic fashion in October, and the Whites have a real chance of doing the double over Klopp’s side if Elland Road gives Javi Gracia’s side the boost they need on Monday.

Indeed, Liverpool know that dropping more points could all but end their chances of qualifying for Europe next season, yet Collymore’s prediction could come off given how many players Klopp now has back from injury ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Yorkshire.

Liverpool know that anything but a win will be acceptable from supporters for their clash against Leeds, and a 3-1 victory, like Collymore has predicted, would be perfect for the Merseyside giants, who want to return to winning ways in the league for the first time since the 7-0 against Manchester United.

With nine games left, Liverpool know they have to be near-perfect if they’re to make a late surge for a European spot, and getting a win against Leeds is the only outcome fans are expecting for this lofty dream to become a reality in the coming weeks.
