Former England captain Bryan Robson has claimed Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans would be an amazing signing on a free for Liverpool.
Speaking with The Daily Mail, the Manchester United legend assessed the various players touted with Premier League moves this summer.
With Jurgen Klopp’s side joining Arsenal, Newcastle and Man United in the queue for the 25-year-old, Robson has claimed he would be an excellent signing as a free agent.
“An absolutely brilliant free transfer,” he said.
“Has Premier League and international experience, you rarely see him have a bad game.
“Gets some decent goals which are often spectacular and is a good athlete.”
Liverpool interested in Tielemans
Liverpool need to upgrade their options in the middle of the park.
Therefore, if Tielemans were to sign for the club, that should be on the condition that he is a back-up.
With the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita set to depart the club, the Belgium international could be an ideal replacement on a free.
However, he certainly isn’t good enough to be a regular starter for Klopp. So, if the Reds did approach to sign him, it should be made clear he would be a rotation option only.
The 25-year-old is well experienced in the Premier League, but his skillset doesn’t match what the manager needs in his midfield. There are definitely better options out there.
