Liverpool attacker Darwin Nunez was not spotted with the first-team squad for their pre-match walk ahead of Arsenal this morning.
A video shared to Twitter, later relayed by The Anfield Talk, captured the Reds squad walking through the city accompanied by the coaching staff – as they do before every home game.
However, from the clip, it appears that Nunez was seemingly absent.
Perhaps he wasn’t caught on camera, but it seems like he wasn’t there for the walk, meaning he’s unlikely to be included in the team facing the Gunners later.
Nunez not spotted on pre-match walk
If the 23-year-old is out of action today, this will be a huge blow for Jurgen Klopp.
The Uruguayan played 79 minutes against Chelsea on Tuesday, but he showed no sign of the ankle injury which had kept him out of the match against Fulham and benched him against Manchester City.
Over the past few months, Nunez has formed a strong front-three with Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo.
In the absence of Luis Diaz, the former Benfica star has been utilised on the left – with the Dutchman taking up the false-nine role in the middle.
However, his absence suggests he won’t be available to feature against Arsenal today, and the Colombian remains on the sidelines with an injury.
Instead, Diogo Jota is likely to make the XI, with the Reds looking to pick up three points against the league leaders.
