RB Leipzig have reportedly set an asking price for Croatian talent Luka Sucic, with Liverpool believed to be interested in signing the 20-year-old.
According to the Salzburger Nachrichten, the midfielder can leave the Austrian champions for €20m (£17m) this summer, with Liverpool one of the clubs chasing Sucic, who has established himself as one of Salzburg’s most exciting youngsters this season.
The midfielder has bagged four assists in all competitions and made 25 appearances along the way, playing almost 2,000 minutes in what has been a breakout year for Sucic, who could now be set to join one of Europe’s biggest clubs this summer.
As per the report, interest is high in Sucic, though Liverpool could be the leading club to sign the 20-year-old if they miss out on Jude Bellingham, a prospect that is growing as the Reds look set to miss out on a UEFA Champions League spot via the Premier League.
Indeed, Liverpool are aware that a midfield overhaul is needed this summer, with Bellingham their number one target with Mason Mount also another player who is seemingly ranking high on Jurgen Klopp’s transfer wishlist, yet with Sucic now available for £17m the Croatian could be an ideal alternative.
Liverpool could move to sign Sucic if Bellingham deal falls through
Sucic has enjoyed a successful year at Salzburg where the midfielder has established himself as one of the club’s most important players, and for Liverpool, the Austrian-born talent could be a great signing if the Reds fail to land Bellingham in from Borussia Dortmund.
At 20, Sucic has plenty of room to grow whilst already having plenty of experience in the bank, and for Liverpool, the Merseyside club could be the ideal next step for the midfielder in his exciting footballing career, which could easily take him to the heights of the Premier League.
