Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones was impressed by his own performance against Chelsea last night.
Speaking in a post-match interview with the club’s website, the 22-year-old gave his thoughts on his own display, having only just returned from a long-term injury.
“I was decent,” said Jones. “I’ve been out for, say, 15 weeks and it’s been an up-and-down time.

“I was steady, I was keeping the ball, I wasn’t trying to do too much. It was good to be out there with the team and I’ll see what the rest of the season looks like.
“The more I play, the better I am. As I said, it’s been a hard time but now I’m back, so I’m excited.”
Jones gave a decent performance
Whilst it doesn’t seem to be the hardest accolade to achieve at the moment, Jones was probably the best midfielder of the starting three.
As he said himself, he kept the ball well and tried to play the simple option.
Despite this, as we know the U21 England international is a very technical player, we would have liked to have seen him attack the opposition defence more, utilising his tricky dribbling skills.

The main issue fans have with Jones is that his decision making can sometimes be quite poor.
He often hangs onto the ball far too long, and thus wastes possession.
However, after such a long period out, we thought the youngster played reasonably well yesterday.
