Reds gem Harvey Elliott has now admitted that he was extremely nervous before moving to Liverpool.
Speaking on the ‘We are Liverpool’ podcast, the U21 England international shared his worries before arriving at the Merseyside outfit as a 16-year-old boy.
“Yeah, being a Liverpool supporter, my whole family is Liverpool as well, so for me, that was big,” said Elliott.

“But I’m not going to lie, I was very scared moving up here. Being such a young kid, I didn’t know what it would be like, you know.
“Coming completely away from my family, like my grandads and my uncles and stuff like that, my close friends. It was hard. It was basically just starting fresh for me. And me bringing my brother and sister up as well, not knowing how they would fit in and get on.
“As soon as I arrived, I was like, ‘Yeah, this feels like home’.”
Elliott feels at home at Anfield
Since arriving on Merseyside, Elliott hasn’t had the easiest time with the first-team.
In September 2020, the 20-year-old suffered a ‘fracture dislocation’ at the ankle after a tackle was made by Leeds United’s Pascal Struijk.
Spending 147 days on the sidelines, the youngster stole the show on his return, scoring in Liverpool’s 3-1 FA Cup win against Cardiff in February 2022.

He has since become a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s squad, and before last night’s match against Chelsea, he had been involved in every single match this season.
Having just turned 20, Elliott is already at a magnificent level for his age. He still has areas to work on, most notably defensively, but he has certainly emerged as one of the most exciting prospects in the Premier League.
