Liverpool attacker Darwin Nunez has beaten Manchester City striker Erling Haaland to a spot in the Premier League’s fastest team of the season.
Squawka have compiled a starting XI of players who have reached the highest top speeds in the English top-flight this term.
Using a 4-4-2 formation, there were very few spaces up for grabs, and this meant there were some surprising omissions from the team.

Renowned for his electric pace, Wolves’s Adama Traore failed to make the cut. Instead, Everton’s Anthony Gordon won the spot on the right-side of midfield.
Up front, Man City’s Erling Haaland also failed to make the XI – losing out to two other forwards.
Alongside Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson, Liverpool fan-favourite Darwin Nunez starts up top, having clocked a speed of 36.53km/h.
Nunez ranked as one of the fastest players in the PL
This isn’t much of a surprise as a Liverpool fan.
Since arriving at Anfield, Nunez has impressed the home crowd with his incredible pace.
Playing out wide, he makes bursting runs in behind the opposition – proving to be too fast for trailing defenders.

Not only is he amazingly quick, the Uruguay international is also very physical.
He often uses his large frame to dominate the opposition, as he is also a huge threat in the air.
To put it frankly, the 23-year-old has the physical attributes to become one of the very best in the world.
He is already a favourite on Merseyside, so Nunez will always be backed for a long career at Liverpool.
