Liverpool are now eyeing a move to sign Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, according to FC Inter News.
As per the report, Jurgen Klopp is considering the 30-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 84-cap Croatia international would have been off the table last year, as he was seen as a crucial part of the Italian club’s XI.
However, more recently, Hakan Calhanoglu has assumed the number six role, making Brozovic’s place in the team less certain.
As a result, it is thought that Inter would seriously consider offers for the midfielder.
Liverpool now considering Brozovic
With Liverpool needing multiple additions in the middle of the park this summer, it appears the Merseyside outfit are looking far and wide for possible candidates.
Therefore, with Brozovic now seemingly more attainable, there’s no wonder why Klopp is exploring a move.
So far this season, the Croatian has made 17 appearances in the Serie A and another four appearances in the Champions League.
Since arriving at the San Siro in 2015, the defensive midfielder has amassed 311 appearances for the Nerazzurri, during which he has bagged 30 goals and 37 assists.
Hailed by Jose Mourinho as a ‘fantastic’ player, Brozovic certainly has the pedigree needed to succeed in the Premier League.
Therefore, whether Liverpool decide to make a move or not now awaits to be seen.
