Luis Diaz is reportedly in contention to return to Liverpool’s squad from injury this weekend for their massive Premier League clash against Manchester City.
According to the Telegraph, the 26-year-old winger faces a real possibility of making his long-awaited return to action this Saturday when Liverpool travel to Manchester in what could be one of the Reds’ defining fixtures in their league campaign.
As per the report, Diaz has taken significant steps in the right direction over the international break to get fully fit for the trip to the Etihad Stadium, with the Colombian international missing the last six months due to injury in what has been one of Liverpool’s biggest blows this campaign.

However, the former FC Porto man could be back to face City this weekend in what will be a huge boost for Liverpool in their final Premier League fixtures, with the Reds hopeful of pipping the likes of Newcastle United and Tottenham to fourth-spot.
And with Diaz now returning to the squad, Liverpool could have the firepower needed to claim fourth spot in their last remaining matches, though there is an expectation that the winger will only be included in the squad to face City, not start right from the off.
Diaz’s return to injury could not have come at a better time

Diaz’s absence has been felt at Liverpool, so-much-so that Jurgen Klopp splashed the cash in January to sign Cody Gakpo as a short-term replacement. Yet with the winger back to full fitness, the South American could not have returned at a more ideal time for the Reds.
The final 12 games of the Premier League season are all must-win matches for the Reds, and with Diaz now back to full fitness, Liverpool have all the attacking tools needed to go for that coveted fourth-pace spot, a final league position that could salvage this season.
