Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp doesn’t think reported sporting director target Paul Mitchell would be a good fit for the club.
That’s according to FootballTransfers, who claim the Reds recently held talks with the AS Monaco official over their soon-to-be vacation position.
With Julian Ward having already announced that he is leaving the Merseyside outfit at the end of the season, the side are in search of a new sporting director.

Just yesterday, Get French Football News reported that Liverpool have been in contact with the 41-year-old, as it is claimed he will be leaving the Ligue 1 club at the end of the summer transfer window.
Whilst FootballTransfers agree the Reds have been in talks with him, they suggest he is unlikely to get the job at Anfield, as Klopp doesn’t see him as a good fit for the club.
Klopp doesn’t want Mitchell at Liverpool
With Liverpool requiring a squad rebuild this summer, the club need to appoint a sporting director relatively quickly if they are to oversee a smooth transition.
Ward has already handed in his resignation for the end of the season, and he is reportedly poised to take up a similar position at Dutch giants Ajax.
Therefore, he won’t have anything to do with the Reds’ negotiations in the summer, meaning it is imperative the club bring in a direct replacement.

The Merseyside outfit need to sign at least three new midfielders, especially with the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and Arthur Melo leaving Anfield.
Furthermore, a central defender, as well as a right-back, could be really useful for Klopp going forward.
Therefore, if the German doesn’t think Mitchell – who has been hailed for having ‘exceptionally high standards’ by former Southampton scout David Webb – is the one for the job, the club will need to identify a suitable alternative.
