Patrick Kluivert now urges Barcelona to sign Liverpool legend Roberto Firmino

Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert has claimed he would love to see Barcelona sign Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino this summer.

Speaking in an interview with Barca Blaugranes, the former striker was asked who he would like to see the Catalan giants – his former club – sign over the course of the summer transfer window.

“Financial Fair Play is something you need to know, but who is on my wishlist,” said Kluivert.

“Definitely needs to be a striker. Because after Lewandowski, you need to have a central striker.

“I’m really fond of Goncalo Ramos. I like that player and he’s done a very good job for the Portugal national team and also at Benfica.

Firmino to Barcelona, I think he would also be a very interesting player.”

It was recently announced that the Brazilian would leave Anfield upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the season.

He is still yet to announce what the next step is in his career.

Kluivert would like Firmino at Barcelona

Although it hasn’t been long since it was announced he will be leaving, Firmino already seems to be on the shopping lists of numerous top teams.

According to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Galatasaray have all shown interest in the 31-year-old, who joined the Reds in 2015 in a deal worth £29m.

Whilst clubs outside of Europe have been touted with interest, the Brazilian is still more than good enough to compete at the highest level.

Therefore, it’s likely he will remain in one of Europe’s top-five leagues – with the potential to continuing playing in the Champions League.

Barcelona would be an incredible fit for Firmino, and he would prove to be a shrewd signing for them on a free transfer.

However, we still can’t bear the thought of Bobby leaving Anfield.
