Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on PSG midfielder Renato Sanches, with the French giants keen on selling the 25-year-old star just one season after signing for the club.

According to 90min, the Portuguese international could leave Paris this summer amid growing Premier League interest, with Liverpool one of numerous sides keeping tabs on Sanches along with Aston Villa, Newcastle, Tottenham and Wolves.

Lauded by Neymar earlier in the season as per DAZN, Sanches has struggled for regular minutes at PSG despite playing under former LOSC Lille manager Christophe Galtier, with the midfielder making just starts in Ligue 1 and featuring for 652 minutes of football in all competitions.

Indeed, with central midfield Liverpool’s prime position to strengthen this summer, Sanches could be a sensational signing for the Reds, with Jurgen Klopp’s side linked with the former Benfica wonderkid during his final season at Lille.

And with PSG now looking to sell, the timing could not be more perfect for Liverpool to make a move for Sanches, who would add a lot of much-needed energy and balance to the Reds’ midfield options, something the Anfield side have lacked for the majority of this season.

However, whilst Liverpool could be well-positioned to sign Sanches, interest from rival clubs could be a stumbling block, with the Portuguese international likely to favour a move where he will be the star of the team, a role the PSG outcast flourished in during his spell at Lille.

Liverpool arguably need multiple midfield signings if Klopp is to get his squad revitalised for next season, and although Sanches could be an excellent addition, the player himself will need convincing if he is to make the switch to Merseyside in the summer.

The former Bayern Munich man has established himself as a player who thrives when he is the man of the hour in the midfield, and whilst Liverpool could offer this to Sanches, it could take some time before the Portuguese international actually takes on this role, which could be unconvincing for the PSG man.
