According to GOAL, Liverpool now officially have two of the best youngsters in world football.
Every year, the NXGN Awards select a group of teenagers who are at the very top of their class â players they are expecting big things from in the future.
Their 50 finalists for 2023 have now been revealed by GOAL, and two Anfield stars make the coveted list: Stefan Bajcetic and Ben Doak.
Stefan Bajcetic
The 18-year-old midfielder had to be included after his meteoric rise to the top, after stepping up for Jurgen Kloppâs first-team this season.
Liverpool were crying out for an energetic presence in the middle of the park, and Bajcetic came in to fill that void.
Having been one of the only Reds players to impress this term, he became an integral part of Kloppâs starting XI.
However, only recently was it announced he had suffered a thigh injury which will keep him out until the end of the season.
Liverpool will be hoping Bajcetic can recover without any issues this summer, as he will play an important role in the side next year.
Ben Doak
The other Merseyside inclusion is Ben Doak, who only arrived at Anfield last summer from Celtic.
The 17-year-old has emerged at the very top of academy talents at Kirkby this season, having already been awarded a number of chances with the first-team.
The Scotsman has made five appearances for the senior side, with two outings in the Premier League.
Having impressed with the U21âs thus far, Doak will continue to play a part for both sides.
He may even receive more opportunities with the first-team next year, but as he is already developing so well with Barry Lewtasâ youth team, thereâs no need to rush his progression.
