Liverpool have now made contact with OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram over a potential move, according to journalist Jacque Talbot.
Speaking on the LFC Transfer Room Podcast, the reporter suggested the Reds are keen on landing the 21-year-old this summer, as they look to rebuild their midfield.
“I spoke to someone recently who covers Nice and says he is the best performing central midfielder in Ligue 1 right now,” said Talbot.
“So, the sound was like a month ago that it would be £30m, but it’s possible it’s inflamed if there is much more interest in that.

“There is an expectancy, a huge one at that, that he will leave in the summer.
“There had been some initial discussion and Liverpool had touched base with him. That’s not to say that is going to be 100%, he’s a top target and they are going to go for him.
“It’s just to say that a conversation took place, very preliminary and there is a bit an interest there and he will be going.”
Liverpool interested in signing Thuram
With Jurgen Klopp desperate to rebuild his midfield this summer, the addition of Thuram would be excellent business by the Reds.
Standing at 6ft 4inches tall, the young giant will add a commanding presence to the middle of the park.
Ranking in the top three percent of all midfielders for progressive carries, the Frenchman has earned statistical comparisons to Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde and Napoli’s Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.

With Fabinho’s recent decline, the 21-year-old would be an ideal replacement to assume his role.
Recently called up to the France national team, Thuram has been excelling in Ligue 1 this season.
Therefore, for £30m, he could be a shrewd signing for Liverpool.
