Simon Jordan believes Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp should be fully backed at Anfield

Pundit Simon Jordan has claimed he would continue to back Jurgen Klopp if he owned Liverpool FC.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, the former Crystal palace chairman suggested the German is absolutely pivotal to any success recently enjoyed at Anfield.

“I would back Klopp. If I was an owner of a football club, I would take Klopp as my manager every day of the week, every day of the week!” said Jordan.

“Whilst you get these peaks and troughs with him and defending the Premier League title wasn’t a great one, and bouncing back off a season where they look like they could have done all four hasn’t been a good one, but he’s one of those that will inspire those around him.

“He’ll bring the fans with him, but he doesn’t seem to go against the owners. A lot of these guys bring the fans with them and then use that as a weapon when they don’t quite get what they want from the owners.

“I think Klopp ticks so many boxes; the manner in which the team plays when it’s on song, the manner in which he rebuilds a football club makes it irresistible to watch. Some of the achievements that he delivers, and also, the perfect squaring of the circle for me as a former owner, you don’t hear this carping and b******g when he doesn’t get all of this embarrassment of riches some of the other clubs get.”

Jordan says Liverpool need to back Klopp

After everything Klopp has brought to the club, he should probably be the last person through the door.

Although he shouldn’t be immune to criticism, the German has completely transformed the fortunes at Anfield.

Since arriving on Merseyside in 2015, Liverpool have won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

Without Klopp and his incredible backroom team, the Reds would be nowhere near as successful as they are right now.

Admittedly, the side have been well below par this season, but that doesn’t fully rest with the manager.

There is only so much the ‘genius’ Liverpool man can do, especially with the lack of budget FSG have given him.
