Liverpool midfielder Fabinho was full of praise for Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Junior, ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash.

Speaking alongside Jurgen Klopp during his pre-match press conference (via the Liverpool Echo), the 29-year-old highlighted his international teammate’s goal-scoring threat.

“Vini is in an amazing time in his career,” said Fabinho.

“He’s one of the main players for Real Madrid.

“In the first leg he showed why he’s at that level, especially the first goal he scored.

“It will be a great challenge to stop him.”

According to a report from The Telegraph, Liverpool were the first club to try and land Vinicius from Flamengo.

Although scouts contacted the Brazilian giants and told people at Anfield they should be signing the attacker, a move failed to come to fruition.

Fabinho raves about Vinicius Jr

As threats go, Vinicius Jr is probably one of the most dangerous players in European football.

His electric pace often proves too difficult to deal with, and his pinpoint accuracy is scary in front of goal.

In the first leg against Liverpool, the 22-year-old was absolutely brilliant. The Reds’ defence were unable to get close to him, and with just a split-second worth of space, he was able to finish past Alisson into the far corner of the goal – opening the scoring.

Just 15 minutes later, he bagged again – inspiring a huge 5-2 comeback.

If Jurgen Klopp’s side have any chance of getting a result at the Bernabeu tonight, they will need to concentrate on keeping Vinicius quiet.

Otherwise, we could see a humiliating repeat of the first leg.
