Wolves star Ruben Neves has admitted that he could leave the club in the future, after claims Liverpool want to sign him.
Liverpool look set to re-shape their midfield over the summer after the likes of Fabinho, Thiago and Jordan Henderson have all struggled this season.
Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner look set to leave the club for free, which will leave the Reds a few short in the middle of the park.
Of course, Jurgen Klopp’s men have been heavily linked with a move for Jude Bellingham, with the England star seemingly their top target ahead of the summer.
But as the race for the Borussia Dortmund youngster heats up, Liverpool has been touted as a possible destination for a host of midfielders – one being Neves.
Indeed, journalist Graeme Bailey told TEAMTalk back in November that Klopp’s side had done ‘major work’ to sign the Wolves midfielder last summer.
The 26-year-old has remained at Molineux, despite attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle, as well as Liverpool.
But he has admitted that he could be open to moving away from the Midlands in the future.
Neves hints he could leave Wolves
Speaking to ELEVEN Portugal, as relayed by Record, Neves has admitted that wants to play in the Champions League and win major titles.
“I’m extremely happy here [at Wolves], but obviously, in terms of my career, I’d like to play in the Champions League again,” he said.
“It’s one of my goals to try to win as many titles as possible before I finish my career. That’s a goal of any player, to be able to play in the biggest competitions in the world, to be able to play at the highest level.”
Neves has been a standout performer at Wolves over the past few seasons and he looks destined for a big move in the future.
The Portuguese star has previously been valued at £50 million, but with his contract set to run until the end of next season, he could be available at a much cheaper price.
Klopp will need fresh faces in the middle of the park over the summer and Neves would be a good fit for his side. The Wolves man’s high energy style and quality on the ball would be ideal for the Liverpool midfield.
